Mardi Gras Bash to raise funds for Holcombe Scholarship Fund
Tickets are on sale for the seventh annual Mardi Gras Bash to be held on Feb. 23 to raise funds for the Christine Holcombe Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The Mardi Gras Bash will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, at Simon George Hall, 401 S. Karnes, in Cameron. The event will start at 6 p.m. and will include a cajun food dinner, live auction, a gun raffle and activities for the kids. Adult tickets are $10 and children under 18 are $5.
Tickets can be bought purchased at the Milam County Extension Office in Cameron, the Rockdale Reporter and Rodenbeck Farm & Ranch in Thorndale. Over the past five years $77,500 in scholarships have been awarded to Milam County residents who are currently in college. Auction donations are appreciated and can be dropped off at Ideal Poultry in Cameron. More information can be found on the Facebook page, Christine Holcombe Memorial Scholarship Fund. For those who can’t attend the Mardi Gras event cash donations are also accepted. The Mardi Gras Bash was established to raise money for college scholarships to honor long time Milam County Extension Agent Christine Holcombe.
