Yoemen take third in Salado Tournament
The Cameron Yoe Varsity basketball team brought home third place from the Salado Tournament after its first outing as a complete team this season.
The Yoemen went 1-1 on the first day of tournament play falling to Hyde Park 50-56 and defeating Caldwell 39-32.
They then defeated Thorndale 47-39 in overtime on Friday.
Scoring for the Yoemen against Thorndale were: Zakorien Spikes with nine, Calvin Stewart with two, Kobe Young with eight, Thomas Melton with 11, Kevaughn Booze with 10, and Brent Wright with seven.
They finished up tournament play by defeating Rosebud-Lott 58-52 on Saturday.
Young and Melton made the All-Tournament team.
They Varsity also defeated Holland 79-39 on Tuesday night.
Spikes lead all scoring with 22 points. Others scoring were Booze with 11, Phabian Bynaum with 10, Stewart with 10, Young with 19, Melton with four, and Asaioun Haynes with four.
The Junior Varsity also defeated Holland 77-29.
The Yoemen will be back in action Dec. 12-14 in the Thorndale Tournament.
