Yoemen, Lady Yoe golf on top after first round of district tournament
The Cameron Yoe golf teams remain in great position after the first round of district competition.
The Lady Yoe sit in first place, holding a narrow four-shot margin over Lorena.
Brinley Patterson fired a 92 for second individual and Kenan Mingus posted a 99 for fourth individual.
Current standings for the girls are: Cameron Yoe - 434, Lorena - 438, Academy - 477.
The Yoemen will have a nearly 50 shot lead entering the second and final round.
Kaden Kuzel paced the Yoe effort with a 79 to tie for first. Landen Greene carded an 84 to tie for second.
Current standings for the boys are: Cameron Yoe - 344, Lorena - 393, Lexington - 398.
Round two will decide which two teams advance to area.
The final round of District play will be on April 5 at Mill Creek Golf Course in Salado.
