Yoe basketball defeats Rockdale 77-57
The Cameron Yoemen came home with a big win over rival Rockdale on Tuesday night, 77-57.
KeVaughn Booze led the Yoemen with 17 points. Thomas Melton and TK Young followed with 13 points each.
The Yoemen and Tigers were tied at the end of the first quarter with 17 a piece, but the Yoemen would outscore the Tigers in the second quarter to led 40-32 at the half.
The Yoemen would add 20 more points in the third quarter to leave the score 60-47 going into the last quarter when they addd 17 more points to end the game 77-57.
Also adding points for the Yoemen were Zakorien Spikes with 12, Pharrell Hemphill with 12, Calvin Stewart with six, and Phaibian Bynaum with four.
Ross Loth led the Tigers with 14 points. Ryan Blair added 11 and Jace Robinson had 10 on the night.
The Yoe JV A team also defeated Rockdale by a big margin winning 65-25
The JV B team fell to the Tigers 55-49.
Academy
The Yoemen took on the Academy Bumblebees on Friday night at home falling 76-59.
Stewart led the Yoemen in scoring with 17 points on the night. Melton added 14 and Booze and Hemphill each had nine points.
Others scoring for the Yoemen were Brayden Hollomon with seven, Spikes with two, and TK Young with one.
The JV A team fell to Academy 67-59. The JV B team won 44-29.
The Yoemen move to 2-4 in district play. Academy sits atop the district standings a 6-0.
The Yoemen will take on the Rogers Eagles at Yoe Gym on Friday night. Varsity is at 7:30 p.m.
