Track stars compete in Houston
During the weekend of Jan. 11-13, members of the Cameron Yoe track team competed for team CTX 5.0 and participated in the Carl Lewis Invitational at the University of Houston.
On the girls side, Yierra Flemings competed in multiple events. She finished fourth in the 60 meter sprint with a time of 7.64 and she was part of the 4x200 relay team that finished third with a time of 1:42:82. On the boys side, there were the Lloyd twins (Ty’Shaun and Ja’Shaun) and Kardarius Bradley.
Kardarius finished 62nd in the 60 meter sprint prelims with a time of 7.28 and finished 26th in the 200 meter dash prelims with a time of 51.99. Ty’Shaun Lloyd finished 21st in the 60 meter sprint prelims with a time of 7.14 and was part of the 4x200 relay team that finished first with a time of 1:29:54, ranking them 11th in the nation. Carl Lewis himself presented them their medals. Ja’Shaun Lloyd placed 3rd in the 60m hurdles with a time of 7.98.
