Nejtek places seventh at State
Over Spring Break, Savannah Nejtek competed in the Powerlifting State Championship in Corpus Christi and placed seventh in the 3A Big School division in the 132-pound weight class.
She set a personal record in two of her lifts, bench and deadlift. She also hit a season best for total weight. She did an amazing job and competed hard. Her results were: BWT at 129.8, squat at 325 pounds, bench press at 140 pounds, and deadlift at 315 pounds, all for a total of 780 pounds.
Carlos Bolivar of the Cameron Yoe powerlift team headed to West and competed in the Regional Powerlifting Meet on March 12. Bolivar placed third in the 114-pound weight class and also received most outstanding deadlifted in the light weight division. His results were: BWT at 101.4, squat 300 at pounds, bench at 155 pounds, and deadlift at 330 pounds, with a total of 785 pounds. Unfortunately, he was unable to qualify for the state meet.
