Lay Yoe sweep Elgin

The Lady Yoe swept Elgin in three sets on Tuesday night at Yoe Gym.

The ladies took game one 25-18, game two 30-28 and game three 25-13.

Carley and Haley Tucker and Ja’Kerra Holt stood out for the Lady Yoe during the sweep.

Carly Tucker had 13 digs, two kills and four aces. Haley Tucker had 13 digs, three kills and an ace. Holt had three digs, 12 kills and three aces Other team members adding to the outcome were: Kenzee Layne with eight digs, four kills and two aces; Makaelyn Perez with four digs and three kills;; Ainsley Driska with nine kills; Leah Pfeiffer with 11 digs and one kill; and Trinity Daniels with six digs.

The JV A team won against Elgin 25-23 and 25-23. The JV B team lost 16-25 and 21-25.

The girls also competed in the Leon Tournament over the weekend. They lost to Groesbeck in three 20-25, 25-23 and 12-15; lost to Leon in two 11-25 and 9-25; and beat Trinity in two 26-24 and 25-12.

The ladies will be back in action today and Friday in the Robinson Tournament and against Navasota on Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. in Navasota.
