Lady Yoe teams sweep Bruceville-Eddy
The Lady Yoe volleyball swept Bruceville-Eddy in a huge win Tuesday night at Yoe Gym.
The varsity put away the Lady Eagles 25-9, 25-9, 25-14 to grab a much needed win. Ja`Kerra grabbed nine kills and two blocks, Haley Tucker picked up 15 assists, and Carley Tucker added eight aces. Haley, Carley and Trinity Daniels each had six digs.
The JV A team earned a sweep as well, winning 25-10 and 25-20. The JV B team helped finish a complete sweep by winning as well in three sets 25-6, 19-25, 25-14.
Robinson Tournament
Lady Yoe volleyball fought back Saturday to wrap up the Robinson Tournament in fourth place in the silver bracket.
They had a tough opening day of play on Thursday.
Cameron opened up play against host Robinson and lost in a back-and-forth match. Cameron dropped the opener 25-19, but bounced back with a 25-19 victory in the second set, but fell in the third and deciding set 15-5.
Carley Tucker had eight digs and Haley Tucker had nine assists in the match. Haley Tucker also added a block, as did Ja’Kerra Holt. Kenzee Layne served up a pair of aces and Holt picked up five kills.
The Lady Yoe fought hard again but suffered another three-set loss to Waco La Vega in their second match.
Cameron easily won the opening set 25-7, but lost the next two sets 25-22 and 15-10.
Haley Tucker added 14 assists, while Leah Pfeiffer added eight kills. Carley Tucker picked up 11 digs and Makaelyn Perez had four blocks. Layne had a strong service game with three aces.
Cameron rounded out day one of the tournament by picking up a victory over Reicher by sweep, winning 25-14 and 25-22.
Haley Tucker had a huge game with 12 assists and a block. Pfeifer came up big as well, notching two aces and nine digs. Holt continued her strong play with nine kills at the net while Perez added a block.
The girls were back in action Saturday against Fairfield in the tournament, but dropped the series in two, 25-17 and 25-14.
Navasota
The Lady Yoe took on Navasota Friday night and saw a back-and-forth battle ensue. The ladies took the opening set 25-16, but dropped the next three sets 25-12, 25-20, and 25-19.
Despite the loss, Cameron had standout performances from Haley Tucker as she posted 25 assists. Holt added 16 kills while Pfeifer picked up 15 digs. Ainsley Driska had four blocks defensively and Perez tallied five aces on serves.
The Ladies will return to action Friday in Moody.
