Lady Yoe run rule Rockdale, fall to Troy
The Lady Yoe softball team hosted the Rockdale Lady Tigers on Friday. The Lady Yoe handily defeated Rockdale 10-0 in five innings due to the ten run rule.
Cameron got things started in the first inning, scoring three runs. The scoring started when Kasara Brooks tripled on a fly ball to right field, driving in the first run. That would immediately be followed by a two run home run blast by Sam Frausto.
The Lady Yoe added on with three more runs in the second inning. The runs were scored when Lauren Harris came home to score on a Rockdale fielding error. That would immediately be followed by a two run home run by Kasara Brooks. Cameron pulled away and scored three more runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Delanie Evans and a home run by Lauren Harris.
The Lady Yoe tallied 12 hits in the game. Lauren Harris, Kasara Brooks, Sam Frausto, and Zayda Spillers all managed multiple hits for Cameron. The Lady Yoe was super stout and didn’t commit a single error in the field. Peyton Polson was the winning pitcher for Cameron. The righty went five innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out two.
The Lady Yoe traveled to take on the Troy Trojanettes on Tuesday. The Lady Yoe would fall to Troy, losing 15-1.
With this loss, Cameron has an overall record of 11-14-1 and a district record of 3-6.
Up next for the Lady Yoe will be a home game against the Rogers Lady Eagles. The game will be on Thursday and first pitch is set for 6 p.m.
