Lady Yoe earn soccer honors

This week, the Lady Yoe girls’ soccer team had several of their players win yearly awards for the season. 

Junior Alexis Mendoza won Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Senior Jule Preiser won Midfield Player of the Year. Senior Ja’Kerra Holt won Newcomer of the Year. 

The Lady Yoe had three players receive the honor of first team All-District: Celeste Cardona (sophomore), Brittani Drake (sophomore), and Savannah Nejtek, (Junior). 

The Lady Yoe also had three players receive the honor of second team All-District: Gabi Borgas (Junior), Brandi Drake (Junior), and Seally Smith (freshman). 

Cameron had another three players be named honorable mention All-District: Kristal Lara (Senior), Giselle Alvarez (Senior), and Brianna Acosta (freshman).

The Lady Yoe also had six players be named Academic All-District: Brandi Drake (Junior), Brittani Drake (sophomore), Ja’Kerra Holt (senior), Alexis Mendoza (junior), Savannah Nejtek (Junior), and Seally Smith (freshman). 

And last but not least, Laura Dickson won the award for Co-Coach of the Year. 

The 2021 women’s soccer team had a successful season and making the playoffs.
