Lady Yoe begin 2019 softball season

The Lady Yoe fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 15-3 loss to Caldwell on Friday, Feb. 15. The ladies struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Caldwell, giving up 15 runs. Pitcher Madison Brunson started the game for the Lady Yoe. She surrendered 15 runs on 14 hits over four and a third innings, striking out one. Brunson, Amelia Wimmer and Kenzie Wimmer each collected one hit to lead the Lady Yoe. The ladies will continue play Tuesday, Feb. 19, against Rosebud-Lott at the Lady Yoe Softball complex in Cameron.

Madisonville

The Lady Yoe fell to Madisonville Feb. 12 by a score of 2-1. Madisonville went up quickly scoring two runs in the first inning. The Lady Yoe would add a lone run in the third inning. Mia Wimmer had two hits. The game’s only RBI was scored by Ashlee Balch. Ashlee Balch, Brittany Hatter, Carley Tucker and Molly Oges each with one hit. Yareli Contreras had a walk. Pitcher Madison Brunson had seven strikeouts in six innings. The game with Caldwell that was set for Tuesday against Rosebud-Lott was canceled due to the rain. The girls will be back in action against Rockdale on Feb. 26 in Rockdale. JV begins at 5 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.
