Cardona pitches shutout against Rockdale for win
Adam Cardona didn’t allow a single run against Rockdale on Thursday night as the Yoemen beat the Tigers 10-0.
He threw a complete game shutout.
Yoe got things started in the first inning when Landon Greene grounded out, scoring one run.
The Yoemen then scored four runs in the fifth inning. Bobby Borgas, Marino Cardona, Jaidyn Sanchez, and Tracer Lopez all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
A double by Enrique Rivera in the fourth inning was a positive for Rockdale.
Cardona led the Yoemen to victory on the hill. The lefty lasted six innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out six.
Mario Casarez took the loss for Rockdale. The pitcher surrendered ten runs on nine hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out one.
Cardona went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Yoemen in hits. The boys didn’t commit a single error in the field.
Dillan Akin had the most chances in the field with nine.
Rivera led Rockdale with one hit in two at bats.
