Marino Cardona with a true Yoemen effort defeated Caleb Sawyer of McGregor in the playback match to finish second in the 3A Region 3 Boys Singles bracket to qualify for the State Tennis Tournament for the third time on Tuesday. Cardona defeated Tomas Lopez of Keene 6-3, 6-1 in the Semi Finals. Cardona then lost to Will Prochazka in the Finals. Marino was forced to defend his second place finish, and fought through cramps to defeat Sawyer 4-6, 7-6, 7-5. Cardona is currently 28-3 on the season.
