Madison Brian scores highest at FCCLA Conference
Madison Brian, a soon-to-be sophomore member of the Thorndale FCCLA chapter, participated in the first-ever virtual National FCCLA Conference last week. Brian, who competed in-person at the Regional FCCLA Conference back in February, had the highest score in her competitive event category: Interior Design - Level 2.
FCCLA Competitive Events, or STAR Events as they are commonly called, involve students preparing a project and often presenting their project to a panel of judges. Her high score from the Regional Conference earned her a spot at the virtual State Conference where she again won 1st place in her event category.
First place at the State Meeting would normally guarantee an invitation to compete out of state at the National FCCLA Conference. However due to COVID- 19, competitors were encouraged to compete virtually. Madison had to submit all of her interior design sample boards, documentation, and recorded presentation electronically. Her hard work and dedication paid off when the National Competitive Events results were announced last week. Madison earned the highest honor - a Gold level placing thus distinguishing herself as one of the top competitors across the nation! Congratulations to Madison Brian and Thorndale FCCLA on this outstanding accomplishment!
