Lady Dogs set for Latexo in Area round
The Thorndale Lady Dogs softball team traveled to Lago Vista High School to take on the Harper Lady Horns on Thursday in the Bi-District round of the playoffs.
Thorndale defeated Harper 3-1 in this one game series to keep their season alive.
The Lady Horns got things started in the second inning when they doubled on a hard ground ball to centerfield, scoring one run. Thorndale pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. All three of Thorndales runs were scored with help from fielding errors by Harper.
Natalie Garcia, Bernice Gonzalez, and Kassidy Eubanks each collected one hit to lead the Lady Dogs. Thorndale defense was like an immovable object and didn’t commit a single error in the field. Karis Ginn was the winning pitcher on the rubber for Thorndale. The righthander surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out ten and walking one.
Up next for the Lady Dogs will be an area matchup against the Latexo Lady Tigers. It will be a three game series. Game 1 will be Thursday at 7 p.m., game 2 will be on Friday at 7 p.m., and if needed, game 3 will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. All games will be played at A&M Consolidated High School in College Station.
