Lady Yoe fall to Rogers
The Lady Yoe softball team hosted the Rogers Lady Eagles on Monday. Cameron was defeated 8-5.
Rogers scored first with a run in the top of the first inning, then the Lady Yoe evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning when Sam Frausto doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, driving in one run.
Rogers began to pull away with four runs in the second inning. Cameron responded with two runs in the bottom of the second inning, then Rogers sealed the game with three more runs in the sixth inning. Despite the loss, the Lady Yoe scattered eight hits in the game. Sam Frausto, Camryn Ward, and Lauren Harris all managed multiple hits for Cameron.
The Lady Yoe played host to the Lorena Lady Leopards the very next day. The Lady Yoe were defeated in a 6-4 thriller. Cameron found themselves down 6-2 going into the bottom of the seventh inning. The Lady Yoe scored two runs, but it would not be enough to complete the last inning rally.
With this defeat, Cameron has an overall record of 11-16-1 and a district record of 3-8. Up next for the Lady Yoe will be a road game against the Little River Academy Lady Bees. The game will be on Friday and first pitch is set for 7 p.m.
