TISD approves contract with MRI for high school renovations
The Thorndale ISD board met last week and approved a contract with MRI construction to complete a high school safety renovation starting on June 1.
TISD Superintendent Adam Ivy said the project should be completed around the beginning of August.
This will involve moving the HS office to the space currently occupied by the library to allow for a safer entry point to the building. The current office space will be transformed into a hybrid commons area that will serve as a media center, library, meeting space, etc.
“This project has been a priority on our long term facilities plan for many years,” Ivy said. “We also recently purchased 16 acres adjacent to Bulldog Stadium that will give the district much needed land that will allow for growth and expansion when the need arises. These two expenses are being funded from savings that the district has been working to accumulate over the last five years to take care of these types of needs.”
