COVID UPDATE: County records seventh death due to COVID

The seventh death due to COVID-19 has been reported in Milam County.

Milam County Judge Steve Young announed the death on Monday afternoon.

"I regret to report another COVID death in Milam County," he said. "This was a senior male resident of the county from the 76520-zip code. This is a grim reminder that the virus is alive and well."

There were also three new confirmed cases and one probable one reported yesterday.

Young said 10 people were tested yesterday in Rockdale with one positive test. No one was admitted to a hospital and two were discharged.

Testing is taking place in Thorndale from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. today. If you are a Milam County resident with symptoms the test if free to you.
