Early voting continues through today
A total of 1,303 votes have been cast in early voting for the July 14 Primary Runoff through Thursday.
Early voting continues today at Bea’s Kitchen, Buckholts Community Center, the Patterson Center in Rockdale, and Thorndale VFW Hall.
Early voting at Bea’s Kitchen is runs through July 10 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All other locations will be open for voting through July 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Election Day voting will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all four locations.
Republicans in Precinct 1 will determine their county commissioner as incumbent Richard “Opey” Watkins faces Henry Hubnik.
Republican voters will also choose a District 17 Congressman candidate by deciding between Pete Sessions and Renee Swann.
Democratic voters will select between Mary “MJ” Hegar and Royce West to meet Republican John Cornyn in the Senate race in November and between Roberto “Beto” Alonzo and Chrysta Csataneda for Railroad Commissioner.
For District 17, Democrats Rick Kennedy and David Jaramillo will look to win out in order to face either Sessions or Swann.
