Early voting begins Monday in primary runoff election
Milam County has announced voting locations for early voting and Election Day.
Voters will be able to cast a ballot in the primary runoff election set for July 14 at Bea’s Kitchen, Buckholts Community Center, the Patterson Center in Rockdale, and Thorndale VFW Hall. The decision was made to move the Cameron voting center to Bea’s Kitchen due to lack of space in the County Clerk’s Office to socially distance.
Voters in the Republican Primary will decide between Pete Sessions and Renee Swann for U.S. Representative, District 17. Voters in Precinct 1 in Milam County will also decide between Richard “Opey” Watkins and Henry Hubnik for Precinct 1 County Commissioner.
Voters in the Democratic Primary will decide three races: United States Senator between M.J. Hegar and Royce West; U.S. Representative, District 17, between David Anthony Jaramillo and Rick Kennedy; and Railroad Commissioner between Roberto R. “Beto” Alonzo and Chrysta Castaneda.
Early voting will be held at all locations June 29 and July 6 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Additional early voting dates are June 30 through July 2 and July 7-10 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bea’s Kitchen only. All other locations will hold early voting June 30 through July 2 and July 7-10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Election Day voting will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all four locations.
