Lady Yoe defeat Rockdale, fall to Rogers

The Lady Yoe volleyball team got a big win over their rival Rockdale Lady Tigers last Friday at Yoe Gym, but dropped a tough home match to Rogers on Tuesday. 

The Lady Yoe (2-2) fought hard but lost a heartbreaker to Rogers in four contested sets Tuesday night.

Cameron won the opener 25-18, but lost the next three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-5, and 25-18.

Despite the loss, Cameron played well as Carley Tucker picked up 11 kills and Haley Tucker grabbed 28 assists. Kenzee Layne added 15 digs and Ainsley Driska had two blocks. Makaelyn Perez added six kills and Ja’Kerra Holt added seven kills. Two players – Haley Tucker and Holt - had an ace on service. 

The JV A and B teams also both lost.

The Lady Yoe took out Rockdale in three games last Friday night, 25-23, 25-21, 25-15. 

Carley Tucker led with 13 kills, two aces, 11 digs and a block. Haley Tucker tallied 20 assists and three aces. Perez added nine digs and an ace. Hold and Driska each had an ace. Kenzee Layne added eight digs and three kills. 

The JV A team fell to Rockdale, 10-25 and 13-25. The JV B team won, 25-22 and 26-24.

The Lady Yoe will end a four-game home run on Friday night against Franklin at Yoe Gym. Varsity begins at 4:30 p.m.
