Lady Dogs get road win at Jarrell, 20-2

The Thorndale Lady Dogs (5-3) took just five innings to gain a 20-2 road win at Jarrell on Monday night. The Lady Dogs strung together 16 hits on the night. Riley White had three hits on the night, driving in runs with a double in both the second and fifth innings. Madison Flores also had two doubles on the night. Kate Casey, Amber Dee, and Hannah Laurence also connected for doubles. White tossed the win, striking out 10 and giving up no walks. Thorndale went 4-2 over the weekend at the Brenham tournament. The Lady Dogs opened up tourney play with a 5-4 win over Sweeny. A defensive error by Sweeny allowed the winning run to score for Thorndale. White pitched with win, striking out eight along the way. The team also took a one run win over Elkins on Thursday. Thorndale had five hits in the game, with Reagyn Trahan collecting two of them. Thorndale lost 16-1 to Port Neches Grove on Friday. Emilee Baker had the Lady Dogs’ only hit and scored the team’s lone run on an RBI hit by White. Thorndale rebounded with a 5-2 win over Salado on Friday. The Lady Dogs collected 10 hits including a triple by Laurence and a doubled by Trahan. White and Trahan collected two RBIs each. White struck out 10 in the win. Thorndale snagged a 3-2 win over West Columbia on Saturday. White struck out 16 in the victory. Baker, Laurence and White all collected RBIs. Ashton Kiesling, BB Dee and Baker all scored runs. The Lady Dogs finished up tournament play with a 10-1 loss to Danbury. Kiesling and White each had a hit and Laurence scored the only Thorndale run. The Lady Dogs will play in the Academy tournament this weekend Thorndale will then open up District 27-2A play on Tuesday when they host Holland.
