Yoemen drop close one to Franklin, 42-38

The Cameron Yoemen had a tough loss to Franklin 42-38 Tuesday night at Yoe Gym. With the loss the Yoemen fall to 9-9 on the season and 4-4 in district play. Franklin improves to 5-3 in District. The Yoemen got off to a good start and lead at halftime 23-20, but couldn’t stop the Lions second-half run. The top scorer for the Yoemen with 13 points was Kobe Young. Nico Vargas added 10 and Dre Booze added seven. Others scoring were Kadrian Hammond with two, ZaKorien Spikes with two, and Greg England with one. Leading Franklin in scoring were Noah Reinhardt with 10, and Jace Leamon with nine. The Yoemen outscored Rogers 22-2 in the fourth quarter to beat the Eagles 57-40 last Friday night. Calvin Stewart lead scoring with 16 points. Thomas Melton added 12. Others scoring were ZaKorien Spikes with seven, Kobe Young with seven, Braden Brashear with six, Kadrian Hammond with five, Dre Booze with two, and Nico Vargas with two. Top scorers for Rogers were Brady Sisneroz with 10 and Kasey Kohring with seven.

Junior Varsity

The Yoe JV A defeated Franklin 42-36 on Tuesday night. Scoring for the JV were KeVaughn Booze with 10, TK Young with 10, Brent Wright with eight, Jaiden Sanchez with six, Davarius Bynaum with four, Brayden Hollomon with two, Trev’yon Fisher with one, and Asioun Haynes with one. The Yoe JV B also defeated Franklin 29-24. Scoring for the Yoemen were Javoun Goldsby with seven, Ryan Muniz with seven, Nolan Brashear with six, Davioun Scott with five, and Aarick Nelson with four. The Yoe JV A beat Rogers 50-38 last week. Scoring were KeVaughn Booze with 25, TK Young with 11, Brent Wright with seven, Jaiden Sanchez with five, and Brayden Hollomon with two. The Yoe JV B also defeated Rogers 45-35. Scoring were Javoun Goldsby with 12, Nolan Brashear with eight, Kai Reynolds with eight, Ryan Muniz with seven, Davioun Scott with four, Aarick Nelson with four, and Antonio Flores with two.
