Warming station open at Bea’s Kitchen in Cameron

Bea's Kitchen Warming Center is looking for people to come by and get warm with a cup a coffee, or a steaming bowl of Chicken and Sausage Gumbo. We will keep the center open through at least 4 am - longer if people need it.

Milam County Sheriff Chris White said everyon is invited including all First Responders, EMS and Milam County Law Enforcement come by and get a great bowl of gumbo or hot cup of coffee.

He gave a big shout out to Angelle Baye Wagnon (chef) and family for making the great food - Blake Hairston for volunteering to keep the place open all night.

The Sheriff's Office is prepared to give transport to the center and back if needed or you are unable to drive - call (254) 697-7033 and they will make arrangements.  

"We have received several calls to check on people and we stand ready looking forward to more," White said. "I would like to thank all of our Law Enforcement brothers and sisters for their efforts during this weather crisis.  Most of all I want to continue to recognize, thank and pray for our Milam County Volunteer Fire-fighters and First-Responders - they are keeping Milam County safe right along with us - and they are doing it because they have a servant's heart and spirit. Thank you very much" Buckholts, Cameron, Gause, Milano, Minerva, Rockdale and Thorndale VFDs for what you do."
