Milam Health Department, WIC, Extension set for move to professional building
County offices that will be housed in the newly renovated Professional Building are set to move to their new digs next week.
Milam County Judge Bill Whitmire told commissioners that the last punch card has been completed and the new building should be ready for move-in next week during the Feb. 26 Commissioner’s Court meeting.
The new building will house the Milam County Health Department, WIC program and Milam County Extension Office.
Due to the move the Milam County Health Department has announced new hours for the coming weeks.
The Cameron Clinic will be closed and not seeing clients from Feb. 28 until March 18. They will reopen on March 18 at 908 N. Crockett Ave Suite C, Cameron.
The Cameron Offices will be closed from March 4-8 and reopen on March 11 at 908 N. Crockett Ave, Suite B, Cameron.
The Rockdale Clinic will remain open on Tuesday and Thursdays with the exception of Tuesday, March 5.
The dates of move-in for the Milam County Extension Office will be March 6-13 and the office will be closed during this time frame.
Extension staff asks that you pardon the mess as we are currently packing and once they move.
“We may expect some issues with phone calls and emails during our move dates,” Milam County Extension Agent Micah Holcombe said. “We hope to get moved in quickly, but we appreciate the kindness and understanding. As you park in the back of the building, which will be our front entrance, you will enter the main corridor entrance in the middle of all three buildings. You will go straight forward into our new office space. The other two offices on either side of us will be the WIC and Health Department offices. We cannot wait to work and partner more with these agencies to help the Milam County residents and families. We are looking forward to the move and cannot wait to serve our clientele in the new building.”
The new building is right next to the Milam County Annex at 908 N. Crockett in Cameron.
