Milam County COVID-19 cases up to 12

Milam County Judge Steve Young said this morning there are now 12 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Milam County.
Two cases were confirmed last night.
He said one of the new patients is a local resident, but is currently out of the county and tested positive out of the county.
Young said they awaited clarification from the state to determine if that patient would count toward Milam County or not. He said it counts because that person resides in Milam County even though they are not currently here.
He said at this time, one person remains hospitalized and six people have recovered. Dairy Queen in Cameron remains the only restaurant closed after owner Robert Mayfield voluntarily closed it until April 29.
The judge said he will update County residents on KMIL at 1 p.m. today.
