Governor announces plans to reopen Texas for business

Texas Governor Greg Abbott today announced the next phase of the plan to open Texas to business.
The Stay at Home executive order will expire Thursday, April 30.
All retail stores, restaurants, movie theaters, and malls can re-open May 1, and will operate at 25 percent occupancy; this is part of Phase 1 for reopening Texas.
All museums and libraries can open at 25 percent capacity, as well. Interactive areas should remain closed.
Outdoor sports can proceed if there are less than four players at a time, and audiences practice social distancing.
Sole proprietors can safely return to work on May 1.
Churches and places of worship can expand their capacity even more after May 1, with social distancing in mind.
All licensed healthcare professionals are allowed to return to work with fewer restrictions on May 1.
Licensed hospitals still to reserve 15 percent capacity for COVID-19 patients.
If COVID-19 is contained in Phase 1 period, Phase 2 could begin as early as May 18, which will allow for 50 percent occupancy for businesses.

This morning during the Milam County Commissioners Court meeting County Judge Steve Young said the county would most likely follow suit with the governor's plans, but he has not announced official plans as of yet. The county's Shelter in Place order runs through May 4.
