Five new cases announced in Milam County

Milam County's COVID-19 case count is approaching 100.

County Judge Steve Young announced early this morning that five new cases If the virus were reported yesterday.

That brings us to 97 confirmed cases in the county; with 18 active cases and 68 individuals being monitored by the Health Department. There is still one hospitalized and one fatality. 

Young said the good news is our active cases went down by one and two people that were hospitalized were released.

Over 300 people were tested in the county at mobile sites this week. 

Yesterday Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that face masks will be required in counties with over 20 cases of the virus. That went into effect this morning at 12:01 a.m.
