COVID UPDATE: County records 59th death due to COVID
Milam County has recorded its 59th death due to the virus.
"This is the second day in a row that we report a COVID-19 related death of a Milam County resident," County Judge Steve Young said. "This person was not vaccinated and was infected with the Delta variant."
"Today we have 12 new PCR cases and 12 new discharged PCR cases; and 33 new probable cases and 26 new discharged probable cases for a net increase of five new confirmed cases in the county," he said. "One person was hospitalized and two were discharged and we have nine individuals on a ventilator."
All residents hospitalized are unvaccinated. Nine individuals hospitalized is in serious condition on vents.
