City of Cameron approves Shelter in Place
The City of Cameron approved a Shelter in Place resolution on Friday afternoon following the actions of the county and state.
The resolution emulates the county and state stay in place orders. It will be in place until April 7 when the current state of disaster runs out.
At that time the city is expected to meet again and decide if either resolution needs to be extended.
During the meeting the council also reviewed an ordinance to postpone the May 2 City Council election. The council decided to take up the item at a later date after Shelter in Place orders have been lifted.
The City of Cameron, among other cities, has petitioned Governor Greg Abbott to allow elections to take place on July 14 during the run-off election he has already called.
