Cameron Business Park to welcome new business
The Cameron Business Park will soon have a new resident.
The Cameron Industrial Foundation and Cameron Economic Development Corporation announced this week that NorCal Ovenworks Inc. will be coming to Cameron.
NorCal Ovenworks, a nine-year-old company, designs and builds custom residential and commercial grills.
“The company recently purchased a lot in the Cameron Business Park where they will build a light manufacturing facility,” Jim Camp, President of the Cameron Economic Development Corporation said.
The plant will begin building stainless steel products; later expanding to A36 steel products. Over time they plan to expand to produce additional products in Cameron.
NorCal Ovenworks hopes to begin construction in January of 2021.
Ginger Watkins, Economic Development Executive Director said that the “initial new jobs created will focus on custom stainless-steel fabrication.”
Owners Gary and Michelle Knackstedt said they chose Cameron for their business for many reasons.
“We were looking for a central location in Texas, with a positive work ethic,” they said. “Rural communities, where young people begin early, taking care of animals through 4H or FFA, tend to develop a solid understanding of pride in work and responsibility to care for others. These are characteristics we value at NorCal Ovenworks.”
“A company like NorCal Ovenworks is just the right fit for Cameron and an ideal light manufacturing business for the Cameron Business Park,” Cameron Mayor Bill Harris said. “We are excited to welcome them to Cameron.”
