Buckholts ISD announces plans for school closure
Buckholts ISD Superintendent Maxie Morgan has announced plans for Buckholts ISD during the closure of campus due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
In a Facebook post Morgan said to accommodate for the extended closure BISD staff will be meeting to formulate a plan to continue educational opportunities to students.
The district is currently planning online assignments for middle school and high school students and are planning to make arrangements for homes without internet access.
For elementary students lessons will be sent home in weekly packets. There will be a more detailed plan after staff meets next week.
Lunches will be provided as long as school is closed with a drive through or walk up pickup for any BISD student free of charge. Lunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Students must be present in the vehicle to get a meal.
“Our goal is to keep our children safe and healthy and provide them with the best educational methods during this time,” Morgan said. “Thank you for your support and we will keep you informed.”
BISD is closed until at least April 3 as mandated by Governor Greg Abbott.
