US 79 closed through Thorndale due to tanker rollover

Per the Thorndale Police Department:

About 1 a.m. this morning an 18-wheeler carrying fuel and diesel rolled over blocking all five lanes of Highway 79 near Berry Lane.

There were only minor injuries, a secondary crash happened when a vehicle struck the rolled over tanker.

All traffic is being diverted either north or south on FM 486 for westbound traffic. Williamson County is diverting traffic at Thrall FM 1063 for Eastbound traffic. Highway 79 is closed to all traffic between FM 486 Thorndale and FM 1063 in Thrall probably for most of the rest of the day.

We have a very large fuel spill And the crash location is very dangerous.
