Milam County 4-H scholarship training to be held

Milam County 4-H members have received over $264,225 in scholarships in the past three years. We are super proud and want to keep this number climbing, so we will be hosting a 4-H scholarship training on June 10 at 6 p.m. at the Main Annex Conference Room of Milam County (806 N Crockett Avenue)!

This is open to all incoming 8th grade students through seniors. We will be going over how to plan and pick the right scholarship path, what scholarships are available, and how to prepare your high school year for 4-H and school so you can maximize on scholarships!

Please call the Extension Office to RSVP (254) 697-7045.

On June 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (at the New Extension Office - 908 N Crockett Avenue, Suite B, Cameron, TX 76520), all incoming seniors are welcome to come to the Extension Office and work on their essays for 4-H scholarships and other documents. However, it is not required to be here until 3.  You can leave as you need to. The goal of this day is to get as much work done on your individual Texas 4-H Foundation Narrative for the scholarship application.

Once these 3 narratives are written:

1. You are done with the hard part of the scholarship application and

2. You have strong base essays that can usually be tweaked to meet the needs of any other non-4-H scholarships applications.

The required narratives for 4-H scholarships are Financial, Personal and Career.  You may want to think about yourself in these categories prior to the workday.

PLEASE RSVP so we have enough space: https://forms.gle/KSohFw3BtdmCN5fi9
