MCT presents Almost Maine starting this weekend

Milam Community Theater will present Almost, Maine by John Cariani for two weekends in Cameron and a third in Rockdale beginning Oct. 21 with a wine and cheese opening night reception.

“We are excited about this show and about extending the run to take it on the road,” Producer and MCT board member Mona Butala said.

On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine.

As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways.

Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend – almost – in this delightful midwinter night’s dream about romantic relationships.

The show is directed by Val Gamiero. The case includes Nikki Bora, Mona Butala, Savana Everett, Victoria Everett, Ryan Heller, A. J. Rios, and Seth Tyson. Cheryl Heller is the stage manager.

Performances will be held at the Lester and Beatrice Williams Events Center at 408 S. Columbus Ave. in Cameron on Oct. 21, 22, 28 and 29. Additional performances will be held Nov. 4 and 5 at the Kay Theatre, 350 N. Main St in Rockdale.

Saturday performances begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday shows at 2 p.m. Doors open 45 minutes prior to the show.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for students. Advanced tickets are encouraged and may be found at ticketleap.com and searching for Milam Community Theater. Tickets will also be available at the door.
