Mardi Gras Fundraiser set for Feb. 22

Organizers have set the date for the 8th annual Mardi Gras bash for Saturday, Feb. 22, at Simon George Hall in Cameron.  

Funds from the Mardi Gras Bash support a collegiate scholarship fund established in honor of longtime Milam County extension agent Christine Holcombe who lost her battle with cancer in 2013.  

Over the past seven years the Chris Holcombe Memorial Scholarship has awarded $90,500 in scholarships to Milam County college students. 

The Mardi Gras bash features homemade Cajun food, a gun raffle, live auction, door prizes, face painting and games for the kids.
