Yoe FFA Members Receive State’s Highest Degree

Five members of Yoe FFA received their Lone Star Degrees last week during Texas FFA’s first-ever virtual convention. The Lone Star Degree is the highest degree awarded at the state level for FFA, and recipients must complete an extensive list of requirements including years of ag education, maintaining a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) and demonstrating leadership skills at the local chapter level and beyond. The recipients of the Texas FFA Lone Star Degree were Colby Barton, Kincaid Callahan, Colby Green, Abigail Mayer and Allison Willoughby. Kincaid Callahan also achieved an additional accolade, winning state with his Agricultural Communication Proficiency Award. He will receive a $1,000 scholarship for this achievement and will advance to the National FFA contest in October.
