Yoe FFA celebrates FFA Week with numerous activities in community
FFA is the largest youth organization in the world. FFA is not extracurricular! The program is part of a three-part model of education that consists of classroom instruction, supervised agricultural experiences and the FFA. Classroom agricultural education is applied to hands-on learning opportunities called supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs). SAEs include activities such as starting a business, working for an established company or working in production agriculture. FFA activities vary greatly from chapter to chapter, but are based in a well-integrated curriculum. Chapter activities and programs concentrate on three areas of the FFA mission: premier leadership, personal growth and career success. Each year National FFA week is celebrated across the United States. Each chapter chooses to celebrate FFA week with their own activities and celebrations. The Yoe FFA celebrated FFA Week with numerous activities. FFA officers greeted students at Ben Milam Elementary and Cameron Elementary School with blue and gold pencils and informed kids of FFA fun facts and knowledge. The officers also provided tacos to teachers at all campuses to show appreciation for all the support the teachers and staff show to the FFA kids. Students at BME competed in an annual FFA coloring contest and winners were chosen. The week was topped off by FFA students at Cameron Junior High hosting an Ag Olympics.
