Earth Day celebration in Rockdale April 20

As I’m getting this together on Monday, April 1 – April Fools Day – everything is for real. I’m too old for April Fools jokes and pranks! I have a flier from the Texas Master Naturalists El Camino Real (pronounced Rea-l) Chapter that they will be celebrating Earth Day at the Rockdale Community Center, 109 North Main, on Saturday, April 20. Bring the whole family. STAAR testing time again. I’m certain all parents have a copy of what will be given and when it will be given. I’m so glad I don’t have to worry about that! Leah and Josh still have a few years before they are facing that, but if things continue as they are going now Addy will be ready. When Kelly was in school here in Gause and the teacher would ask a student a question and they did not answer immediately she would say “Mr. (whomever the teacher was)” just pass them by they don’t know the answer. But I know that is not what she does as a teacher. Our dear friend Lois Wilkins passed away early Monday morning in the Scott and White Hospital in College Station. She had been in poor health for some time. At this writing no time for the funeral has been set. We are certainly going to miss her here in the community. Our prayers are with her family.
